Tabitha Wheeler sentenced to 20 years in prison

Tabitha Wheeler, the woman who seriously injured a teenager when she crashed a car while driving under the influence, was sentenced to prison on Tuesday.

A judge sentenced Wheeler to 15 years in jail for assault and wanton endangerment in connection to that crash.

She pleaded guilty to the charges back in October.

She got an additional 5 years in prison for jumping bail in 2014. She was arrested earlier this year in Texas.

Wheeler will have to serve 20% of her sentence before she is eligible for parole.

The January 2014 wreck seriously injured Corey Gentry who was a passenger in the car.
