Two arrested and charged in connection to East Prairie thefts
Two people have been arrested and charged with in connection to thefts in East Prairie, Missouri.
The Mississippi County Sheriff’s Office says two thefts were reported last week.
A woman reported that jewelry and other items were taken from her home, while a man reported that an ATV and a trailer had been stolen from his property.
During the investigation, 48-year-old Mark Pritchett and 41-year-old Carol Pritchett, both of East Prairie, were brought in for interviews in connection to the thefts.
As a result of those interviews, deputies developed probable cause that both Mark and Carol had taken part in both thefts.
All of the stolen jewelry was also found in Carol’s possession and will be returned to the victim.
Deputies have so far not found the stolen trailer and ATV.
Mark and Carl were both arrested and taken to the Mississippi County Detention Center.
Both of them were charged with burglary, stealing a motor vehicle, and two counts of theft/stealing of property valued in excess of $500.
Bond was set at $150,000 for Mark and $100,000 for Carol.
The investigation is still ongoing and more arrests and additional charges are expected.
