U.S. Army Corps of Engineers restricting public access to navigation locks

The navigation lock at the Kentucky Dam on the Tennessee River is off limits to the public.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says it has suspended unescorted public access to all navigation locks on the river for an indefinite period of time.

The restricted access will allow the Corps to review security procedures with the Tennessee Valley Authority.

Escorted group tours will be allowed by contacting the appropriate lockmaster in advance.
