Man arrested at Paducah motel for assaulting girlfriend

An Owensboro, Kentucky man was arrested at a Paducah motel for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.

The Paducah Police Department say that 48-year-old Virgil Sosh and his girlfriend were at a motel in the 1200 block of Broadway when they got into an argument.

The girlfriend said that Sosh began hitting her and that when she ran away he hit her in the head with a luggage stand.

She says she knocked on the doors of other rooms and asked for someone to call the police.

Police arrived at the motel and arrested Sosh. The girlfriend was taken to a local hospital.

During an interview, Sosh admitted to assaulting his girlfriend.

Sosh was charged with second degree assault. He also had warrants charging him with 29 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, nine counts of failing to appear in court, and one count of failing to comply with pre-trial release.

He was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
