Three taken to local hospitals after McCracken County wreck

Two adults and a young child were taken to local hospitals Wednesday after a two-vehicle wreck in McCracken County, according to the sheriff’s department.

Deputies say around 4:28 p.m. Wednesday, 33-year-old Robert Stewart of Eddyville was driving on Lydon Road when he stopped at the intersection of Oaks Road and pulled his car into the path of a truck. The truck, driven by 33-year-old John Gordon of Hickory, was headed southbound on Oaks Road when the wreck happened.

Stewart was taken to Baptist Health Paducah and his passenger, 31-year-old Ashley Stewart, was taken to Lourdes hospital for injuries deputies described as incapacitating. A child who was also in the car, 3-year-old Hunter Stewart, was taken to Baptist Health Paducah for "non-incapacitating injuries as a precaution," according to the sheriff’s department.

The sheriff’s department was assisted on scene by Mercy Regional EMS, Reidland-Farley Fire and Rescue, and Stinnett’s Towing Service.

The intersection of Oaks Road and Lydon Road was shut down for about an hour.
