Residents in East Cape Girardeau and McClure urged to evacuate
Residents in East Cape Girardeau and McClure are being urged to evacuate the area.
Illinois State Police say there is potential for water to overtop parts of the East Cape Girardeau levee in Alexander County.
Officials are asking anyone that leaves their home to contact one of these three numbers to leave their address and contact information.

A list will be made that will help officials make sure everyone made it out of the area safely.
There are two shelters open for evacuees:
Osage Community Center at 1625 North Kingshighway Street in Cape Girardeau, Missouri
Shawnee Community College at 8364 Shawnee College Road in Ullin, Illinois
Thursday night, residents in Fayeville, Miller city, Willard, Olive Branch, Hodges Park, Unity, and Sandusky were urged to leave because of potential for water to overtop the Len Small levee. The levee was overtopped on Friday.
