Evacuation order lifted in Jackson County, Illinois

The emergency evacuation for Jackson County, Illinois will be lifted on Wednesday.

That’s for 700 homes in the county’s flood zone.

Those who need help moving back in or who would like to volunteer to help can call the Jackson County Volunteer Coordinator at (618) 534-9212.

County chairman John Rendlemen says work to repair the levees will begin after the floodwaters recede.
