Four arrested and charged in connection to weekend gun shop burglary

Four Eldorado, Illinois residents were arrested in connection to a weekend gun shop burglary.

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office says Gunslingers Gun Shop at 810 Karel Park Road outside of Eldorado was burglarized on Sunday.

Four suspects were arrested Tuesday evening.

They were 18-year-old William Jayden Emmons, 54-year-old Charles Edward Payne, 27-year-old Nathan D. Behrens, and a juvenile.

Police were also able to recover 29 handguns, 1 assault style rifle, numerous ammo magazines, ammunition, and gun cases.

Emmons and the juvenile were both charged with burglary, aggravated possession stolen firearms, and possession of a stolen/converted vehicle.

Payne and Behrens were both charged with aggravated possession stolen firearms.

The burglary is still under investigation.
