Armed robbery under investigation in Ballard County

The Ballard County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store it says happened around 7:52 p.m. Thursday.

Deputies say a man standing between 6 feet, 2 inches and 6 feet, 6 inches entered the Cutmart convenience store on Broadway Street in Barlow Thursday and asked the clerk for a pack of cigarettes. When the clerk turned to get them, deputies say, the man was pointing a pistol at her when she turned back around.

He demanded the pack of cigarettes and cash from the register, deputies say. They say the clerk complied, and the man left through the front door before fleeing to the west of the store.
