Runaway teenager dies in fatal crash

UPDATE: Williamson County Sheriff Bennie Vick and Williamson County Coroner Mike "Junior" Burke have confirmed the identity of a teen who died in a wreck Sunday night.

The girl is identified as 15-year-old Angel Dawn Glory Needham of Creal Springs. 

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is investigation a fatal crash that killed a 15-year-old girl.

Around 9:25 p.m. Sunday, the sheriff’s office got a call of a van that had crashed on Shed Church Road, about 1 mile east of Route 166.

The caller, who came upon the crash, said it looked like the van hit several trees.

Inside the van, deputies found a 15-year-old girl dead in the driver’s seat. No one else was in the van.

The sheriff’s office says the teenager was a runaway reported to the Creal Springs Police Department about 15 minutes before they got a call about the crash.

Her parents said that she had taken their van without their permission.

The Williamson County Coroner’s Office says the teenager died of injuries sustained in the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.

The Williamson’s County Sheriff’s Office is withholding the name of the teenager until family members are notified.
