A man and woman were arrested Tuesday after drug detectives saw a drug deal in the parking lot of a Paducah business, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department.
Detectives say they saw 27-year-old Terrell Mayes approach a vehicle and hand a woman what they suspected were illegal drugs. They say when they approached the woman she tried to flee by driving away in reverse, but the vehicle stopped when she ran over a curb.

Investigators arrested Mays inside the business, and they say they found Hydrocodone, Xanax, Marijuana, a grinder and a digital scale with Cocaine residue on Mays when they searched him.
Detectives say they also found additional marijuana and a digital scale in a trash can inside the business. Additional crack cocaine was allegedly found on Mays person upon arrival at the sheriff’s office.
Mays was charged with two counts of first degree trafficking in cocaine on a second or subsequent offense, possession of Hydrocodone, possession of Xanax, tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Liggett was charged with possession of cocaine, fleeing or evading the police and wanton endangerment.
