Graves County Sheriff’s Office: Mayfield man’s arm pinned under car during crash

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office says they were called to an crash on KY 1241 between Trinity Church Road and East Vaughn Road just after noon on Tuesday.

The sheriff’s office says 50-year-old Billy Travis Jr. of Mayfield, Kentucky was traveling north on KY 1241 when he dropped off the right side of the road and overcorrected to the left.

He crossed both lanes and went into the ditch.

His car then rolled over onto it’s driver’s side, pinning Travis’ left arm underneath it.

An air bag system and the jaws of life had to be used to get the car off of Travis’ arm.

The roof also had to be partially cut and removed so that paramedics could get to Travis.

Travis was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His condition is unknown.

The sheriff’s office says Travis was not wearing a seat belt.
