2 children, 2 adults injured in three-vehicle wreck

McCracken County sheriff’s deputies say a wreck involving three vehicles that happened Friday afternoon sent four people to a local hospital.

Deputies say the wreck, that happened around 4:30 p.m., happened in the area of North Gumsprings Road and U.S. 62 in McCracken County. They say a 2005 Chevrolet Impala was headed westbound on U.S. 62 when the driver, 25-year-old Mandy Hust of West Paducah, hit a 1994 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 37-year-old Charles Elledge of Glenallen, Missouri.

Elledge’s vehicle then hit a 2007 Ford van in front of him, driven by 53-year-old Connie Holley of Paducah, according to deputies. The road was slippery at the time of the wreck, deputies note, because of recent rainfall.

Hust’s two children —  2-year-old Lindley Hust and 4-month-old Rowan Hust —were in the Impala with her in child seats. Deputies say the two children, Elledge and Strong were all taken to Baptist Health Paducah by Mercy Regional EMS for injuries described as "non-incapacitating."

The Paducah Police Department and the Concord Fire Department assisted at the scene. Deputies say the roadway was shut down for about 45 minutes.
