Kuttawa man crashes car after attempting to pass semi in a no passing zone

Kentucky State Police are investigating a crash on US 62 near Kuttawa.

The crash happened near Bent Tree Lane just before 6:00 a.m. on Friday.

A preliminary investigation shows that 18-year-old Denzel Aldrich of Kuttawa was driving east on US 62 when he tried to pass a semi in a no passing zone.

Aldrich lost control of his car, went into the median, and then back onto the road before stopping in a ditch.

Troopers say he was partially ejected from the car because he was not wearing a seatbelt.

Aldrich was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
