Murray State educator named to Kentucky board of education

An assistant professor from Murray State University will now serve on the Kentucky Board of Education.

Gov. Matt Bevin appointed Dr. Susan Edington Friday. She replaces Dr. Jay Parrent and will serve through April of 2018.

Edington has a bachelor’s degree in English from Kentucky State University, a master’s in secondary English education from the State University of New York, a master’s in school administration from Murray State University, and a doctorate in educational policy studies and evaluation in higher education from the University of Kentucky. 

Over the course of her career, she has worked full-time in higher education at Madisonville Community College and Murray State University, and she worked as a secondary English teacher at the K-12 level for a short stint in Frankfort for the Kentucky Department of Education.
