Man arrested on child abuse charges

A Scott County man is facing charges of child abuse after admitting to beating his son.

Juan Morin, 39, of Blodgett, was arrested after detectives learned of injuries to his son.  Detectives say Morin caused the injuries after finding a behavior note from his son’s school.

Morin faces charges of hitting his son in the face multiple times and covering his noise to keep him from breathing.  Detectives also believe Morin slammed his son’s head into a wall, kicked him in the stomach and beat him with a clothes hanger and a belt. They also say Morin bit his son’s arm.

The state removed the child from his home.  Morin was arrested Friday and admitted to some of the allegations. His bond is set at $75,000.
