Two arrested, charged with burglary and drug possession

Two people in Graves County were arrested and charged with burglary and criminal mischief Sunday.

Sheriff Dewayne Redmon says deputies received a call of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Old Dublin Road.  The caller reported two white males were knocking on doors of several houses in the area.

Deputies responded and located the vehicle.  They found Stevie Harpole, 34, and Jason Garber, 39, both of Mayfield.  While investigating, deputies found methamphetamine and marijuana in the vehicle as well as items that were believed to be stolen.

After speaking to some homeowners on Old Dublin Road, witnesses were located that had observed the pair enter a house.  Other homeowners saw them on their property and properties where no one was at home.  Deputies also found a house where a storm window had been taken that the home had burglarized.  The storm window was found inside the vehicle they were driving.

Harpole and Garber were arrested and taken to the Graves County Jail. They are charged with burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, possession of a controlled substance, marijuana possession and promoting contraband.
