Dorena-Hickman Ferry to reopen Tuesday

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the Dorena-Hickman Ferry plans to reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 19. It’s been closed for several weeks because floodwaters covered the ferry landing on the Kentucky shore.

KYTC spokesman Keith Todd says Captain Jeremy Newsom reports the river has been dropping steadily. Todd says the ferry is prepared to resume service on the normal winter schedule starting at 7 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
