Missing Scott County man found dead in water

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a missing person.

Sheriff Rick Walters says around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, his office received a call on a missing person.

According to family and friends, 23-year-old Zackary Johnston went hunting Tuesday evening and had not been heard from since.

Officers found Johnston’s vehicle covered with snow in a rural area north of Scott City.

During a search of the area, fishermen told officers they saw items that could of belonged to Johnston.

Officers searched the area and found Johnston’s body in the water.

No word on the cause of death.

An investigation is ongoing.
