Former Murray Mayor Bill Wells dies from rare disease

Former Murray Mayor Bill Wells died Saturday after battling a rare disease.  Current Mayor Jack Rose says Wells had Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease which is a brain disorder.

Wells completed one term as mayor but was defeated by Jack Rose in 2014.  Before becoming mayor, Wells was on the Murray City Council for 20 years. 

Funeral arrangements are incomplete.  We will update this story when we receive more information.
