Poplar Bluff Police Dept. looking for “dangerous individual”

The Poplar Bluff Police Department is looking for a "dangerous individual" who escaped police custody.

Officers says on Saturday, 31-year-old Jeffery Matthew Vest of Broseley, Missouri led officers on a 25 minute vehicle chase.

During the chase, Vest’s vehicle got stuck in the mud on a road in rural Butler County. He then started to run away on foot.

One of the officers chasing him, broke his right leg.

Vest was able to escape police custody.

Police say Vest may be in a stolen silver 2016 Ford Contour with Missouri license plates MB7 V0D.

Vest is considered a "dangerous individual" and possibly under the influence of methamphetamine.

He is wanted on charges of 1st degree assault on a law enforcement officer, felony resisting arrest, and felony stealing.
