Woman injured in rollover wreck in McCracken County

A Murray woman was injured Wednesday afternoon in a rollover wreak on Clinton Road in McCracken County.

Sheriff’s deputies say 30-year-old Shanna Spann was driving a blue 2009 Ford Escape south on Clinton Road near Lone Oak Pharmacy when it dropped off the right shoulder. The  SUV struck the end of a driveway culvert and overturned. Deputies say glare from the sun contributed to the wreck.

Mercy Regional EMS and the Lone Oak Fire Department were dispatched to the scene, along with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department. Spann was seat-belted in and had to be freed from her vehicle, deputies say, by non-mechanical means. They say she declined to be taken to the hospital by ambulance, but she went on her own to the Baptist Health Paducah emergency room.

The wreck happened around 1:35 p.m., and Clinton Road was blocked between Lone Oak Road and Goad Drive for about 45 minutes.
