Boil water order reissued in southern Illinois

A boil water order that impacted a large section of southern Illinois has now been lifted.

A boil water order was issued on January 27 for Illinois American Water customers in Elizabethtown, Cave-In-Rock, Herod, Junction, and Equality.

That boil water order was lifted on Friday.

Illinois American Water says it is no longer necessary for customers to boil their water before drinking or cooking.
