Yearly crime report shows crime rate is dropping in McCracken County

New statistics from the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department show the crime rate, for the most part, is dropping.

Sheriff Jon Hayden says murders, drug arrests, and DUI’s all dropped in 2015 compared to 2014.

There was one murder last year compared to two in 2014.

Sheriff Hayden says felony rape cases were down 9% and DUI’s were down 10%.

Criminal mischief cases rose by 7% and weapons violence increased 60%.
