Man charged with cocaine possession in McCracken County

A man was arrested on charges of public intoxication, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia Tuesday, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies say 24-year-old Joshua Heater, of Paducah, was arrested after a local business called to report a suspicious vehicle in its parking lot. The caller reported the person in the vehicle was smoking something from a Coke can.

The sheriff’s office says when deputies got to the parking lot and talked to Heater, he showed signs of being under the influence of drugs. Deputies say they found a pipe made from a Coke can in the vehicle, which they say looked like it had been used to smoke crack cocaine. They say they also found guns in the vehicle.

Deputies say more charges are possible. Heater was jailed in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
