KYTC says highway crews on duty for snow

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says crews are on alert in District 1 for snow falling in west Kentucky.

KYTC spokesman Keith Todd says highway crews in Kentucky’s 12 westernmost counties will stay on duty to be prepared to respond quickly to areas of heavy snowfall. He says salt residue from the snow response on Tuesday should work as pre-treating for this weather event.

Todd reminds drivers to slow down in snowy conditions and adjust driving speeds to meet conditions they encounter through the evening, He says drivers traveling north and west into Missouri and Illinois should be mindful of snow that could potentially accumulate in those states.
