Paducah woman arrested on child abuse charges in Ballard County

A Paducah woman has been charged with child abuse in Ballard County.

Kentucky State Police say on January 19 they received a report of possible child abuse in Kevil.

After a three week joint investigation with the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, troopers arrested 40-year-old Kimberly Kershaw.

Troopers say Kershaw babysat for a family, but wouldn’t give any further details since the investigation is still ongoing.

She is charged with:
2 counts of unlawful imprisonment 1st degree
2 counts of wanton endangerment 1st degree
Assault 4th degree child abuse
Terroristic threatening 3rd degree
Theft by unlawful taking under $500
Harassing communications
Theft of identity

Kershaw is in the Ballard County Jail.
