Crescent Point Energy issues propane recall

The propane in your tank may have been recalled. Crescent Point Energy says its recalling some propane that was under-odorized, meaning you won’t be able to smell it if there’s a gas leak.

The propane was delivered to customers in Kentucky for use in storage tanks and portable refillable tanks between April OF 2009 and October of 2015. No incidents or injuries have been reported, according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, but if you have a has leak you can’t detect, you can risk fire, explosions, and burns.

The CPSC says you should not try to test the propane yourself. Instead, you should immediately contact the retailer you bought the propane from, the supplier or the Crescent Point Energy hotline to arrange for an inspection. If the inspection confirms the propane contains insufficient odorant, Crescent Point Energy will either arrange for odorization or provide a replacement portable tank.

You can contact Crescent Point Energy toll free at 866-421-4266 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT, by emailing info@youandpropane.comor or going online to http://youandpropane.com for more information.
