High school students compete in West Kentucky Regional Science Bowl
How good is your science knowledge? Some of the brightest young minds in the area are taking part in the National Science Bowl high school edition.
More than 35 schools are represented in the elimination-style format. We caught up with two seniors who say it’s fun but challenging.
"I’ve enjoyed competing with people from schools all across the region," said Ballard County High School senior Staci Henderson. "It’s a really good opportunity, because not only do I get to exercise the knowledge that I already have, but I get to learn new things as I’m here."
"We’ve been playing well earlier on in the day. We’ve beaten some pretty good teams. It’s been going pretty well," McCracken County High School senior Zach Stone said.
Teams from Gatton Academy won first and second place in the West Kentucky Regional Science Bowl in Paducah on Friday. Team 1 will receive a check for one thousand dollars as well as a trip to Washington D.C. for the national finals.
McCracken County High School finished third.
