Ambulance hit by car, one injured
An ambulance was hit by a car Tuesday morning.
Illinois State Police say the ambulance was responding to an emergency call with its lights and siren activated.
The ambulance was traveling north on Illinois Route 148 and attempting to cross the intersection of Illinois Route 13.
The ambulance had a red light.
A car traveling west on Illinois Route 13 had the green light.
The driver of the car said he saw the ambulance going through the intersection at the last second and was unable to avoid hitting it.
The left corner of the car hit the right corner of the ambulance.
The driver of the car, 37-year-old Joseph Roach of Johnston City, was taken by a second ambulance to a local hospital for minor injuries.
The driver of the ambulance was not injured.
