Proceeds from celebration concert distributed to local organizations

Three local organizations now have their share of the proceeds from this year’s WPSD/Lions Club 59th Telethon of Stars.

The celebration was shortened this year to a one-night concert format, and Chairman Richard Beck is thanking the churches, businesses, and hundreds of individuals who opened their hearts and wallets.

He says the concert may have lasted four hours, but the work and preparation took 12 months.

Beck says excitement is already building for the next concert.

This year’s proceeds were divided as follows:
Easter Seals of West Kentucky – $129,987.55
TLC of Southern Illinois – $26,206.52
UTM Infant Stimulation in Tennessee – $7,416.38
