Charleston man injured in weekend shooting

Charleston police are investigating a weekend shooting.

Around 9:45 a.m. Sunday, the Charleston Department of Public Safety got multiple calls of shot fired in the area of Vine and Lee Streets.

While on the way there, officers were notified of a person shot in the 500 block of Ada Street.

That person, 26-year-old Cornelius David of Charleston, was airlifted to a local hospital. He was last listed in serious condition.

Police say David was shot while driving his vehicle near the intersection of Vine and Lee Streets.

He then drove to West Ada and called for an ambulance.

An investigation is ongoing, but there are currently no suspects in custody.
