Shooting in Metropolis injures man

Metropolis police are investigating an early morning shooting.

Officers were called to the area of Pearl Street and 11th Street around 12:26 a.m. on reports of shots fired.

They found a 31-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his chest.

The victim was taken to a Paducah hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.

No suspect is in custody.
