4 injured in wreck in Saline County, Ill.

Illinois State Police say multiple people were injured in a wreck on Illinois Route 142 at Eldorado Blacktop Road in Saline County Thursday morning.

ISP says around 11 a.m., 37-year-old Tanner Michael Martin of Henderson, Kentucky, was headed southbound on Route 142 preparing to make a left turn onto Eldorado Blacktop Road when he failed to yield to a northbound vehicle driven by 46-year-old Darlene Randolph of Eldorado, Illinois. Randolf’s Jeep struck Martin’s car.

Troopers say Martin, Randolph — along with two passengers in Randolph’s vehicle: 35-year-old Robert Essex and 38-year-old Terry L. Smith — were taken from the scene by separate ambulances to an area hospital. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Martin was cited for failure to yield turning left and no seat belt.

ISP District 19 was assisted at the scene by the Saline County Sheriff’s Department, Saline County Ambulance Service and Med Force Ambulance Service.
