Apps that will get you out of bed almost immediately

Having trouble getting up in the morning? Here are some apps that can help you out.

For Android users, there’s Mimicker Alarm. This one forces you to perform an action to get the alarm to turn off. For instance, one option is to take a selfie while making a neutral, goofy or sad face. Another option is to complete a tongue-twister.

You can’t shut it off any other way. Mimicker Alarm is a free app, but has some annoying ads built in.

iPhone users can download an even more aggravating alarm app. When the Barcode Alarm sounds, there’s no snooze button. You actually have to get out of bed, walk to the bathroom, and scan the bar code of your toothpaste or soap. That’s an eye opener, isn’t it?

Barcode Alarm is also free with ads; a $2 version gets rid of them.

Once you do get up and at ’em and out the door, Morgan Freeman can help get you to work.

Waze, my favorite GPS driving and map app, has added the A-list actor to its choices of voices.

If Waze is already on your phone, you don’t have to do anything except update it. Freeman’s voice won’t give you street names, just directional turns. Still, his is the voice of God from the movies. You can’t ignore his directions.
