Be On The Lookout: Stolen checks passed at multiple area banks

What started as a purse theft in one local city has turned into the passing of stolen checks at multiple banks in two Local 6 states.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Department says a purse was stolen from an SUV in the YMCA parking lot sometime between 2 p.m. and 3:10 p.m. on Feb. 24.

Since then, checks from that purse have been passed at banks in Murray, Cadiz, Paducah and several locations in southern Illinois.

Surveillance video captured images of a woman suspected in the case and the car she was driving.

If you have any information, contact Capt. Jeremy Prince with the Graves County Sheriff’s Office at 270-247-4501, or on his direct line at 270-248-7516.
