First liquor store opens in Marshall County

It was a historic day in Benton, Kentucky as the first liquor store opened in Marshall County Wednesday morning.

People were already buying products at Cellar Door Wine and Spirits just as the store opened.

The owner, Boone Chambers, bought the location  before the first vote failed, but it worked out in the end.

Chambers said that may be the reason why they were the first store to open up in Marshall County.

"I think one of the main criteria was location. We were at a decent location and a decent property," said owner Boone Chambers.

Chambers said another Cellar Door Wine and Spirits store will open up in Draffenville in a few months.
