Judge considering testimony for Jeffrey Conrad trial

A judge is considering testimony that may be allowed in Jeffrey Conrad’s trial.

Conrad is accused of killing Garlon Casey Cox last year.

Conrad says he saw Cox and another man trying to break into his storage unit in Reidland. He says he shot Cox in the head because Cox got into a truck and started driving towards Conrad’s friend.

On Tuesday, Conrad’s defense brought in a neuro-pharmacologist who reviewed the case and spoke about Cox’s mindset.

The coroner’s report shows Cox had meth and other drugs in his system. Dr. Jonathan Lipman says that could of made Cox reckless, but not violent.

Now that the judge has heard the testimony, he will decide between now and next week whether it will be used in the trial. Conrad’s trial is set to begin March 16.
