Motorcyclist hit by log truck in Hopkins County

A Hanson, Kentucky man was injured when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a truck.

Kentucky State Police say the crash happened at the intersection of US 41 and KY 138 Tuesday around 2:00 p.m.

Troopers say 50-year-old David Douglas Jr. of Wickliffe was driving a log truck southbound on US 41 with an empty trailer.

Douglas was making a left turn from US 41 onto KY 138 East when he turned into the path of a motorcycle.

The motorcycle was being driven northbound on US 41 by 38-year-old David Lohse of Hanson.

Lohse was flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville. Troopers say it appears Lohse was wearing a helmet. No word on his condition.

Douglas was not injured.

An investigation is ongoing.
