Saunders to appear in court next week

Ronald Saunders will make his first court appearance in Ballard County, Kentucky, next Friday.

He was indicted last week on felony child abuse charges and then fled to Oklahoma, where he was arrested Tuesday.

Ballard County Sheriff Carey Batts tells us Saunders waived his extradition.

Saunders was charged in the killing of two-year-old Conner Bachuss in 2010 in McCracken County.

He pleaded guilty to second degree manslaughter and was sentenced to 10 years in 2012, but was released last July.
