WKCTC president announces retirement

West Kentucky Community and Technical College President Dr. Barbara Veazey is retiring.

She announced on Friday that her last day will be June 30, 2016.

Veazey was the founding president of WKCTC.

In May 2002, then Kentucky Community and Technical College System President Michael McCall appointed Veazey president of Paducah Community College. McCall also named her CEO of the West Kentucky Community and Technical College District.

When the West Kentucky Community and Technical College District and Paducah Community College were consolidated in 2003, she became the first president of WKCTC.

Kentucky Community and Technical College System President Jay Box will be on campus later in the month to explain the search process for the next president.
