Eggners Ferry Bridge temporarily blocked

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says  a contractor has blocked the existing U.S. 68/Kentucky 80 Eggners Ferry Bridge at Aurora temporarily Friday afternoon.

The block was expected to last about 30 minutes starting at about 1:10 p.m. The contractor blocked traffic on the bridge to allow a metal plate covering a pothole on the bridge deck to be secured.

As of around 2:30 p.m., a Local 6 crew at the bridge tells us one lane is open at this time, and crews are directing traffic on the bridge. If you’re going to take the bridge, you can expect a delay.
