Hopkins County man charged with selling stolen items

A Madisonville, Kentucky man was charged with selling stolen items.

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office says on March 8, jewelry and scrap gold was stolen from a home located on Bean Cemetery Road.

The same day the items were stolen, they were sold to the Park Avenue Jewelry and Loans.

Deputies have charged 35-year-old Derek Gatten with selling those stolen items.

He is charged with receiving stolen property over $500 but less than $10,000.
