Traffic signal to be removed in Sturgis, KY
A traffic signal will be removed from an intersection in Sturgis on Friday.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will be taking down the signal at the intersection of KY 109/5th Street and Adams Street.
In November, traffic engineers put the signal into flashing mode to study how well traffic moved through the intersection without the signal in operation.
There have been no crashes at the intersection since the change was made.
Engineers decide to turn the signal off and add stop signs for Adam Streets traffic. Traffic on KY 109 does not stop.
On Friday, crews will remove the traffic signal at the intersection. Work is expected to start at 10:00 a.m.
