Motorcyclist killed in Murray wreck

The Murray Police Department says a man died Friday after a motorcycle wreck on Kentucky 121 South.

Police say 37-year-old Jerry Birdsong was headed northbound on the highway toward Murray when he failed to negotiate a curve at South 4th Street. His motorcycle crossed the southbound lane and left the roadway, where it hit a tree.

Around 8:20 p.m. on Friday, police say they found Birdsong lying unresponsive in a yard near the motorcycle. Murray-Calloway EMS took him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
