No foul play suspected in Illinois man’s death

Johnson County, Illinois coroner, David Rockwell, reports preliminary autopsy results on the man found dead inside a burned home Goreville, Illinois shows "smoke inhalation" as the cause of the man’s death. However, Rockwell said he is awaiting results from Jesse Hancock’s toxicology results. After he receives those test results he’ll determine a more official cause of death in the case.

Hancock’s body was found inside the home at 116 East Main Street after it caught fire earlier this month.

The Illinois State Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of that fire.
