Young girl injured after riding bike into the side of a police cruiser

A 10-year-old girl was injured after she ran her bike into the side of a police cruiser.

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened at the intersection of Sycamore and West Keigan Street in Dawson Springs around 3:54 p.m. Monday.

A Dawson Springs police cruiser was heading south on Sycamore Street when a girl on a bike crossed into the cruiser’s path, causing the officer to abruptly stop his car.

The girl then ran her bike into the passenger side of the police cruiser.

There was minor damage to the car.

The girl had minor injuries. She was treated and released to her parents.
