Police investigating overnight shooting that injured a man

Police are investigating a shooting in Sikeston that injured a man.

The Sikeston Department of Public Safety says around 11:30 p.m. Thursday officers got a call of a person shot in front of 106 Monte Circle.

The 29-year-old victim said he had just returned home and was outside when he was approached by a person.

That person fired one shot and hit the victim in the right shoulder.

The victim was taken to St. Louis where he was last reported in stable condition.

Police are investigating the shooting.
