Carbondale police looking for two suspects in connection to deadly weekend shooting

Carbondale police have arrested one man and are looking for two more in connection to a deadly weekend shooting.

Around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, officers were called to 402 West Walnut Street on reports of shot fired.

Officers say they arrived at a large party.

During the investigation, police found out that a physical altercation took place inside the home and that shots were fired inside the house.

The altercation then moved outside where more shots were fired.

Officers found one person with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a St. Louis area hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Officers then searched the area and found 41-year-old Timothy Beaty unresponsive in his home. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital from a gunshot wound.

Police say Beaty was an uninvolved bystander who was not at the party at 402 West Walnut Street.

Police have arrested 21-year-old Dwayne Dunn of St. Louis, Missouri, in connection to the shooting. He has been charged with reckless discharge of a firearm.

They are also looking for two men who are believed to be the primary suspects in the incident.

The Carbondale Police Department is asking anyone who was at the party or who has any information to call the police department at (618) 457-3200.
