Carbondale police release name of weekend shooting victim

Carbondale police have released the name of a person shot and killed early Sunday morning in Carbondale.

Police say the victim is Timothy Beaty.

The shooting happened around 2:00 a.m. in the 400 block of West Walnut Street.

Beaty, who lived next door, was hit by a stray bullet.

Another person who was at the party was taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Information has not been released about a possible suspect or suspects.
